V Foundation Awards $600K to Support Medulloblastoma Research
Drs. Tobey MacDonald and Fatih Sarioglu (Georgia Tech) recently developed a tool called Cluster-Chip that can detect circulating tumor cells in the blood and remove them so that they can be studied. The study will enroll 25 patients with medulloblastoma (MB) and collect their blood at different times throughout their treatment. This information will contribute to understanding how MB spreads and how to better treat MB tumor spread.

Fellows' Fall Research Retreat
The Fellows' Fall Research Retreat was a huge success! Dr. Josh Schiffman (University of Utah), an expert in cancer predisposition, lectured about comparative biology and how it relates to pediatric cancer and p53, entertained us with stories of how to procure elephant blood, and offered honest and thoughtful advice to the fellows. The second year fellows described their projects, the third years displayed their awesome progress, and many junior faculty presented their ground-breaking work.
