The Care We Provide

The Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Emory University Department of Pediatrics provides comprehensive care to pediatric-age patients (newborn to 21 years of age) with disorders of the respiratory system. We offer state of the art clinical services and the latest breakthroughs in treatment.

The Pulmonary Medicine team provides both inpatient consultative services at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital and outpatient services at the Emory Children’s Center. Our staff specializes in caring for children by the diagnosis and treatment of the following conditions:

  • Airway obstruction
  • Aspiration syndromes
  • Difficult to treat asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Bronchopulmonary dysphasia
  • Chronic chest pain
  • Chronic pulmonary aspiration syndromes
  • Chronic wheezing
  • Congenital lung anomalies
  • Gastroesophageal reflux with respiratory consequences
  • Persistent cough
  • Interstitial lung disease
  • Pulmonary complications of neurodevelopmental delays

How to Make an Appointment

Our patient coordinators are available to schedule your child’s clinic appointment Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. To schedule an Emory Children’s Center Clinic appointment, please call us at 404-778-2400, or long distance toll free: 1-866-EMORY MD (1-866-366-7963). Prior to calling, please have the following information:
  • Child’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Diagnosis or reason for visit
  • Referring physician’s name
  • Address and phone number
  • Insurance coverage (name and ID)
  
What to bring to your appointment

Please make sure you bring the following to your appointment:
  • Any medical records regarding the current problems including x-rays, lab results and medication names and dosages
  • Please download here and bring a completed New Patient Information form
  • Insurance cards and referral information
Please allow additional time for parking
  
Location and Parking

The Emory Children's Center is located on the grounds of Emory University, adjacent to the new wing of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital.

Valet parking is available at the front of the Emory Children’s Center. A $2 validation sticker is provided by the Center to reduce the price to $5. Alternate parking is available in the Egleston Hospital underground parking garage next to the Emory Children’s Center.
  
Payment Policy and Billing

Payment is expected at the time of the clinic visit. If insurance information is provided and can be verified prior to the visit, the Emory Children’s Center will file your child’s claim, collecting only the applicable deductible, co-pay or other amount the patient is responsible for. If not, we will provide a copy of your child’s bill, which you may use to file with your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Please note that pulmonary function tests are provided by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and are billed separately.
