FAQs

Q: What is Emory's purpose/goal in sharing patient stories?
A: Emory would like to create an archive of online information where families can seek and share hope and support, our employees can build camaraderie amongst patients and inspire each other to perform better each day, and the general public can learn about the amazing work done at Emory-Children's Center and the Department of Pediatrics.

Q: What types of stories will appear on the website?
A: We are interested in all kinds of reflections about experiences at the ECC and the Department of Pediatrics. This is the place where you can share your thoughts with others. Stories can come from volunteers, family members who would like to honor the memory of a lost loved one, family members who would like to share inspirational recovery stories, and others who have been cared for here.

Q: Can I remain anonymous?
A: Simply check the "would like to remain anonymous" box on the form. When writing your story, use only your first name or you can make up a name. You may also want to write in broad, general terms to avoid any direct link to your personal experience. We would like to have your real name and contact information only for purposes of contacting you.

Q: Can I mail in my story?
A: We want to make sure everyone has an equal opportunity to share their story. Mail handwritten stories to: Emory Department of Pediatrics, Office of Development, 2015 Uppergate Drive, Atlanta, Georgia, 30322.

Q: How long will my story remain on the web site?
A: There will be a link to your story on the site for approximately one year, after then, your story will be archived and can be accessed per request.
