•  Chief of the Gastroenterology service at Egleston Children's Hospital of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
•  Dr. Gold serves the US Department of Health and Human Services and pursues his research interests as the Director of the Helicobacter Laboratory, Foodborne and Diarrheal Diseases Branch, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Research Interests
Dr. Gold's principal research focus is the etiopathogenesis and epidemiology of Helicobacter pylori in gastroduodenal (ulcers, gastritis) disease in children. A secondary related focus involves the epidemiology of gastroesophageal reflux disease in children. Finally, more recent related research efforts center on the role of infectious agents in pediatric Crohn's disease.
