Participants were given preparation assignments before a number of the seminars as well as many follow-through opportunities afterward. Sessions involved hands-on assessment and learning activities, lively class and small group discussions, multimedia presentations, and informal conversations with leaders in their fields. Participants were given a series of tools to assess and plan their career progression throughout the course and were offered ongoing individual mentoring and career guidance after the course to optimize the benefits from their involvement.
It is anticipated that this course will be offered every year or two based on the number of new faculty members joining the Department.
Suggestions for topics or speakers are welcome at jcornis@emory.edu or (404) 727-2456.
