Areas of Interest/Research:
Dr. Hazzard is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor at Emory University's Department of Pediatrics. She conducts evaluations of children with developmental and behavioral problems and helps families access appropriate support services at school and in the community. She has been actively involved with developing and evaluating programs which promote child safety, parenting skills, coping with chronic illness, and children's emergent literacy. She is the founder of Reach Out and Read at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital, a program which encourages parents to read regularly to their young children. Dr. Hazzard is contributing to the development and oversight of the behavioral health, family education, and academic support aspects of the Urban Health Program.
