Residency Program

Welcome to the Emory
University Pediatrics Residency website !
The objective of the
Emory University Pediatric Residency program is to train
a cadre of young pediatricians who will go on to become leaders
in their chosen areas of interest. The program helps develop the
knowledge and skills necessary to become exceptional and versatile
pediatricians who are qualified to provide the finest quality
medical care to pediatric patients and/or to pursue academic careers
in medical investigation and education.
We achieve clinical excellence by serving a broad patient population. As a part of our program, you will
see these patients in a variety of settings, from your continuity
clinics to the ICU. One of our program's greatest assets is that
you have the opportunity to work in both a general pediatric hospital
and a tertiary care pediatric referral center. This gives you
the ability to become very comfortable with the care and treatment
of common pediatric diagnoses, while also gaining the breadth
of experience gained through the care of patients with rare and
complex diseases. Moreover, we provide care to a broad cultural
and socioeconomic spectrum, introducing our residents to problems
related to the under-served and the broader intersection of society
and medicine.
Our curriculum offers comprehensive clinical experience, rewarding teaching and supervisory responsibilities,
and the opportunity for active participation in research and child
advocacy issues. House officers are selected on the basis of academic
record, letters of recommendation, and personal interviews. Pediatric
residency training at Emory is an outstanding experience. We urge
you to come for an on-site interview so that you may interact
with house staff and faculty, view our facilities and see the
program in action.
We encourage you to examine this site to learn more about our program. We welcome any questions that
you may have. If we can help you in your search for a pediatric
program, please do not hesitate to contact us.
