Residency Program
Welcome to the Emory University Pediatrics Residency website!
The mission of our training program is to provide the best education possible to our residents so that they may become future leaders within the field of pediatrics. By exposing residents to a diverse population of patients, an accomplished cadre of supervising faculty, and a thoughtful, comprehensive curriculum, we continue to be proud of the excellence that characterizes our graduating physicians.
The diverse patient population is provided by the city of Atlanta and surrounding referral base, as residents are front line in the care of over a half-million patients annually amongst the three main children’s hospitals in Atlanta – Egleston, Hughes Spalding, and Scottish Rite. Our faculty number over three-hundred and remain committed to resident education in all forms, including bedside teaching, didactics, and research mentorship. Finally, our curriculum addresses the ACGME competencies of resident education – Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Practice-Based Learning and Improvement, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Professionalism, and Systems-Based Practice – in order to assure development of a complete person as well as physician at the time of program completion.

We hope you find this site informative about our program and welcome any questions you might have. Thank you for your interest and congratulations on selecting pediatrics as a career choice – you will not be disappointed!
