Dr. Lynn Gardner, Dr. Susie Buchter, Dr. Barbara Stoll (Form L-R)
Assistant Program Directors:
Two newly graduated residents serve as assistant program directors (APDs) and are joined by four PL-3 chief residents who serve in rotation at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Hughes Spalding/Grady inpatient services, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding outpatient department. Their responsibilities include patient care, teaching, and administration, but they also have adequate flexibility to pursue individual activities important to their career goals.

The APDs and chief residents coordinate the activities of the house staff at both campuses with those of the faculty and other professional staff. Because they provide an important bridge between faculty and house staff, they must have strong leadership, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
