It is possible that H5N8 could cause disease in humans, so it is important to have effective vaccines available to prevent H5N8. This study will test a H5N8 avian influenza vaccine when given with one of two adjuvants (a substance that may help the body produce more antibodies when given with a vaccine). You will receive 2 doses of the H5N8 flu shot with either the AS03 or the MF59 adjuvant about 3 weeks apart.
Who Can Participate?
Healthy adults 19 to 64 years of age
What is involved?
The study involves 12 clinic visits at Emory Children’s Center, which will range from 1-2 hours each. Subjects will receive two doses of the influenza vaccine, one on their first clinic visit and the next dose within 21 days.
This study is free. To say thank you, families will be compensated for their time and participation.
