Research Project: Hypoglycemia unawareness in pediatric type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

Kristina is originally from Alabama and has spent time in GA for school. She spent her residency in Pittsburgh and happily returned to Atlanta (and the warmer weather) with her husband and 1 year old baby girl. They love re-exploring Atlanta as a family.

Sobenna was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to the USA 12 years ago to pursue her undergraduate degree. She is looking forward to the warmer weather and exploring the food scene in Atlanta. In her free time she also enjoys outdoor activities and traveling.

Brooke Anderson

Pediatric Residency: Mercer University, GA
Research Project: Transplant-related Diabetes Mellitus management, and its challenges.

Brooke is a native of Georgia and loves this area! Her husband and Brooke have a son and 2 dogs that keep them very busy! In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, going to the lake, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs! The beach is her happy place to spend some quality time with loved ones.

Research Project: Identify individual, familial and psychosocial barriers in type 1 Diabetes Mellitus outpatient care with the use of technology.

Originally from the metro Detroit area, Silpa was excited to match at the program at Emory for many reasons. In addition to being impressed with the fellowship program, she was so pleased to move to warmer weather and enjoy living in a city where there is so much to do. In her free time Silpa enjoys going to festivals, restaurants and other events the city has to offer.

Isra grew up in Khartoum, Sudan, and after graduating from Khartoum University she moved to the United States to pursue residency and fellowship training. Isra enjoys living in Atlanta with its diverse population, loves soaking up the beautiful, charming, warm weather, and tasting the variety of fabulous restaurants. Apart from being a mother of two, she spends time genuinely enjoy cooking, photographing, and spending fun time with my family and friends.
