The Pulmonology section combines the talents of physicians, nurses and scientists to effectively treat
and research the problems and diseases associated with airways and lungs.
Our clinical team members work in tandem with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, our affiliated pediatric
hospital system. Together we provide comprehensive compassionate care to our families, offer state of
the art clinical services, and the latest breakthroughs in treatment. Our physicians and nurses are
involved in cutting edge clinical studies designed to unravel the mechanisms of the children's lung
disease. Ongoing studies include the mechanisms and treatment of asthma, gastroesophageal reflux, effects
of air pollution exposure, and the impact of chronic aspiration on the developing lung.

Our scientific research faculty include nationally recognized experts in their fields who focus on
uncovering and learning more about what causes airway problems and disease and what effects they have on
children's health.
We offer a Fellowship Program for doctors, designed to prepare trainees for specialization in pediatric
pulmonary medicine.
Our pulmonologists are also active health advocates for the children in metro Atlanta, Georgia, and
beyond. Outreach programs for asthma care have become a valued community resource; and our asthma clinic
at Hughes Spalding offers services to inner city children.
